Current Status

As of July 13, 2021, there are about 188.08 million cases of Covid-19 infection globally, with 4.05 million fatalities and 172.02 million recoveries (World Meters). Even yet, the number of cases continues to increase on a daily basis.

 

Transmission and Nature

Covid-19 is a virus that causes the disease. Covid-19 is an infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Typically; the illness is transmitted through respiratory droplets.

 

Threats

When a person contracts the illness, they may have mild, severe, or no symptoms at all (asymptomatic). Fever, dry cough, and tiredness are all common signs of the illness. Patients with covid-19 may also suffer less common symptoms such as loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, and conjunctivitis (also known as red eyes), a scratchy throat, Headache, Pain in the muscles or joints, Various kinds of skin rashes. Nausea Shortness of breath, lack of appetite, disorientation, persistent discomfort or pressure in the chest, and a high fever (over 38 °C) may be experienced by the patient, in contrast to severe covid-19 symptoms (World Health Organization).


Vulnerability

As people become older, they become more vulnerable (Web MD). Senior people are at a greater risk of developing severe cases of covid-19 because of their weakened immune system. Furthermore, many studies have shown that individuals with comorbidities are more likely to have a severe case of covid-19 infection for the same reason.

 

Management

Even basic measures, such as good hygiene, may help to combat coronavirus infection. Hand washing, coughing etiquette, and the use of face masks and face shields may substantially reduce the risk of contracting the virus.

The development of vaccinations for Covid-19 infections is a significant scientific achievement. Vaccines are now being given out all around the globe to prevent the virus from spreading.

The first instance of Covid-19 was discovered in the Chinese city of Wuhan a year and a half ago. However, with discipline and thorough application of health procedures, as well as immunization this pandemic will come to an end.
